Daily Nanny Housekeeper sought in Highgate

Single mum looking for someone to support her 8 year old identical twin daughters and herself at home in Highgate Mondays-Thursdays to cover both childcare (drop off, pick up, homework etc) as well as household (cooking, cleaning, laundry etc) activities. Their previous nanny was with them for 7 years and an integral part of the family and they are ideally looking for someone who will be with them for a number of years again. They are looking for someone with strong communication and organisation skills, with a passion for supporting the family. The girls are in Y4, love arts and crafts and are confident and outgoing. Mum is a strategy consultant working in central London 4 days a week with occasional travel. They have 2 cats. Family is close by (grandparents, aunt) and a key part of their lives.

Job Specification: Nanny Housekeeper (4 Days a Week for 8-Year-Old Twin Girls)

Position: Nanny/Housekeeper

Location: Highgate, North London

Working Days: 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday

Working Hours: 7am to 6pm, live out

Start Date: early Jan 2025

 Key Responsibilities:

Childcare:

•        Provide attentive and nurturing care for 8-year-old twin girls

•        Supervise the children during activities, playtime and homework.

•        Ensure the children’s safety at all times.

•        Plan and engage the children in age-appropriate activities, including educational games, arts and crafts, outdoor play and reading.

•        Assist with morning and after-school routines, including drop-off and pick-up from school (not everyday) as well as organisation of play dates as appropriate.

•        Prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children.

•        Help with homework and school projects as needed.

•        Occasional babysitting.

 Housekeeping:

•        Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a tidy and organised home environment.

•        Clean the home once a week

•        Handle laundry and ironing for the family as needed.

•        Manage household errands, such as grocery shopping, drycleaning, sorting toys etc if required.

•        Assist with meal preparation and cooking for the family.

•        Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes after meals.

•        Occasional PA duties such as booking appointments.

 Additional Duties:

•       Communicate effectively with the parent about the children’s progress and any concerns.

•       Coordinate the children’s schedules, including after-school activities and appointments.

•       Adhere to the family’s routine, values and preferences for childcare and household management.

 Qualifications and Experience:

•        Previous experience as a nanny or housekeeper, particularly with school-aged children.

•        Trustworthy, responsible, and able to work independently.

•        Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

•        Ability to multi-task between childcare and housekeeping responsibilities.

•        Knowledge of basic child development and a passion for working with children.

•        CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

•        Driver’s license preferred but not essential
