Daily Nanny/Housekeeper sought in South Hampstead

Two mums with a 4 year old boy and an 8 year old girl, living in a house in South Hampstead would love to hire a daily Nanny/Housekeeper. Here is the brief for the role:

  • Hours 8am-6pm with 1 hour lunch break but occasional flexibility required

  • Most weeks Monday to Friday

  • Planning done well in advance (months ahead) and requires occasional flexibility (e.g. working Tuesday to Saturday or Wednesday to Sunday or longer week compensated by a shorter week to follow – again planning is known weeks/months in advance)

  • 8.30am to 3.30pm is mainly housekeeping, laundry, occasionally walking the dog, running errands, watering plants, preparing children’s meals, basic cooking prep for adults but no cooking required for them, letting contractors in, etc.

  • 3.30pm-6pm  (depending on the day) children (now 4 and 8) come back home with school bus (occasionally need to be picked up) and need to be fed dinner, bathed and got ready for bed. The older one may need some homework supervision.

  • Occasional babysitting

  • If one of the children is sick, then she will be responsible for being with the child for the day so that the parents can still work

  • Some proxy parenting if both parents are away

  • Essential traits: hard-working, reliable, flexible, punctual, honest, discrete, self-starter and proactive, creative with the children, open to feedback, good communicator, healthy and taking care of personal hygiene and appearance (the mums value health a lot in their house and would like that reflected in the people who work for them- especially as it translates to food choices for the children )

  • No travel required as the family travels a lot but doesn’t need help when away. During that time, the employee is expected to fit in their holidays (with lots of advance notice) and for the balance of time, the nanny is expected to catch up on tasks such as tidying up, deep cleaning, window cleaning, etc.

  • No driving licence required but would be a bonus

  • Responsive to WhatsApp during working hours but should not be on the phone making or taking personal calls or texting messages

  • Excellent references

  • Competitive pay with food allowance and end of year bonus, plus extra allowance for proxy parenting and other tasks when needed

To start anytime from February 2025. Salary negotiable DOE
