"Iâm a workaholic because I love what I do but that immense passion can mean switching off is never easy. Thereâs always one more email to send, post to write (case in point with this one at 23.49 pm) and photo to take. Iâve learnt to chill my beans a bit more. To turn the computer and phone off earlier at night some nights (itâs impossible every night as a lot of my writing happens late) but I have greater balance than I once did. I hang out with my husband more, take more time off and I make me-time as consistent ritual in my week be it getting my hair and nails done or going for a run." - Vicki

"Regardless of where you decide to go, youâd be surprised how sunny a ski holiday can be. With the high altitude, the cold wind, and the beating sun, people are always slow to realise how sunburnt they are getting when rushing down the mountain top. Another factor is of course the snowâs ability to reflect the sun, therefore adding reflected light to the direct sunlight. With this in mind, make sure to lather up the kids in sun cream before the day starts." - Jo

"Put on a song that you love. This doesnât have to be some zen instrumental or ocean sounds (unless thatâs what you absolutely love.) Use whatever song youâre feeling at the moment and lose yourself in it for those few minutes. If Iâm stressed out I will take a quick break, pop my earphones in, close my eyes and listen to Pac lose his mind on Hit Em Up before returning to care for the kids. When the song is over, try to stay in the mood it took you to, whether hyped up and ready for anything (as with the song mentioned above) or chilled out and peaceful." - Danielle

"After I got home from the birthing center and was home with my precious baby girl for a couple months, I found we both kept getting sick fairly often. Sometimes as often as 1 to 2 times a month. It was hard for both of us and everything that I usually took when I was sick, wasnât safe for nursing or while you were pregnant. During my labor I was given antibiotics. ( Something I personally regretted ) Antibiotics can kill the good and bad bacteria in your body and it can take quite a while for your immune system (and that of your babyâs if you were pregnant) to get back to normal." - Michelle

This can be things like crossword puzzles, coloring books, video games, etc. Having their own bag helps them to have their own personal space with their things. It may seem trivial but trust me, when kids are cooped up together in a car they love the personal space. Even if itâs a small space like a bag. "Burns from hot water are one of the most frequent accidents in the home. Children smell food or are just plain inquisitive and tend to grab things from the kitchen counters even though they cannot see them. This can easily end up being boiling water on the stove. "When you're looking into booking your next holiday, you'll probably be offered the option of selecting all inclusive. Two things here â firstly, you'll almost certainly see the price of your holiday increase in comparison to a self catering, bed and breakfast or half board selection. Secondly, don't necessarily let that price increase put you off. A delay in diagnosis can significantly shorten a womanâs childbearing years. "Being a working mom is hard. Beying a stay at home mom is hard. No matter how you choose to do it, being a MOM is hard. I chose to be a working mom for a variety of reasons, and while I'm happy with the decision I made, there are some days where I just feel down and defeated. Bad mom... bad employee... bad wife... you name it, I've felt it all." - Meredith

"You may not think so, but your kids learn something everywhere you go â even if itâs only to the Mothership. Our little ones absorb their surroundings, take them in, and find a way to apply their new experiences to their lives and what they already know. Getting them out of the house exposes them to new situations and environments. Plus, learning is exhausting and exhausted kids take good naps and/or sleep well at night (bonus!)." - Shannon

"If you havenât done it recently, take your time and inspect the playroom for any broken toys, useless objects or other unnecessary items. These are only robbing you from space. You know your child and what are the toys they actually play with. Get rid of absolutely everything that doesnât serve any purpose. I advise you to declutter a little bit every day. In this way, there will be no empty packings, domestic object or other things that donât belong in the playroom." - Brittany

"There are a few signs that can tip you off that your childâs backpack is too heavy. Does your child have pain while wearing their backpack? Do they complain of numbness or tingling in their arms, hands, or fingers? Do you see red marks on their neck or shoulders after wearing the backpack? Do you see your child struggling to put on or take off the backpack and do you see a change in their posture once they have it on? If you answered âyesâ to any of these questions, you will want to take another look at how much weight they are carrying in that backpack." - Maureen
